Physiotherapy Consultation

Your first visit with us at Think Physio will last between 45 and 60 minutes. You will be asked to complete a short form with your personal details, GP/Consultant details, reason for visit and insurance details if applicable.

During this first session you can expect a thorough assessment of your problem and an initial treatment.

You will be asked some questions about your condition and how it is affecting your day to day life. In addition we will need to ask you some questions about your general health and any medication you may be taking (please bring a list of any medications with you to this visit). If you have had any investigations for your condition it may be useful to bring copies of the reports along with you for the Physiotherapists information.

After the interview a detailed physical examination will be performed to help us identify the origin and cause of your problem. This information will guide your management.

We will provide you with a clear explanation of our findings and discuss with you a proposed treatment plan to aid your recovery, including an estimated length of treatment and likely outcome. If we think there are a variety of ways to address your problem this will be discussed with you so that you can make an informed choice. We will also give you advice about ways to manage your condition at home and teach you specific exercises to aid your recovery.

Please wear comfortable clothing and appropriate undergarments as you may be asked to undress to your underwear during this and any future sessions. A pair of shorts may be appropriate if your problem is related to your lower back or legs.

At each visit you can expect a friendly, professional and confidential approach to your condition. Every opportunity will be given for you to ask questions about your condition management and future prevention.
